The Department of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery of Policlinico Umberto I, Sapienza Università di Roma is internationally acclaimed for excellence in clinical care, education, and scientific research. As to the statistics, about 1000 inpatients and 2000 outpatients are treated in the Department per year. The Clinic offers various special consulting sessions for patients with oral and cranio-maxillo-facial diseases. Each year the Department performs an average of 800 surgical interventions in inpatients and 500 in outpatients. The resident medical staff is committed to providing the highest level of patient care. The team plays a major role in interdepartmental collaborations with groups including neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, pathology, orthodontics, prosthetic dentistry, and the multidisciplinary cleft-palate team.

The Department offers education of students of dentistry, students of medicine, and training in Maxillofacial Surgery (residency). Moreover there are Master programs dealing with Temporomandibular Joint pathologies for medical doctors and dentists who would like to focus on this subject.

Visiting doctors and fellows are welcome to participate actively and/or passively in all activities of the Department. Both short and long-term visits are possible. The training program will be individually arranged with the candidate. Submit application to:
